My Old Workplace

Had some business near my old workplace. Had not been by there for quite some time and had a little time to kill so I took a walk by it. Most of the businesses nearby were still there which is good news. The notable exception is a good sized steel yard now quieter than Barnston Island after a big snowfall.

Of course I could hear my old mill before it came into sight. Do not miss those screaming saws for a second. Good to see the place is still providing work for the boys no matter how hard the Americans keep fucking the industry that kept me in beer for damn near 50 years, Sonja in wine and the dogs food bowls full. I could see two of the boss’ asses as I walked by and a couple workers I did not recognize hard at it.

There are people out there who miss their jobs after they retire. Fuckers never worked in a fucking mill.

  1. I couldn't agree move Mr. Beer.

Most people are so happy to get the fuck out of their job that they have hated.

Personally, I have recently retired from a very stressful and dangerous shiftwork job in the oil and gas industry. Do I miss getting up at 4 am to go to work? Do I miss the various dangerous chemicals and high temperature lines all over the place? The super heated steam pipes pissing out? Having to dig in my heals when management fucktards wanted to allow dangerous work in my area?

    No fucking way!

I do regret not being able to back the boys when are getting pushed around and being on the union executive for many years.

The idiots that miss their jobs must not have a fucking life
