Pockets of Gold

Fortunately, when one falls, like an object approaching our moon, down ye olde internet hole, there are specks of gold to be pocketed that make the adventure worth doing. Today, for example, I learned Lou Reed has a song writing credit for a KISS song called ‘A World Without Heroes’. Reed’s contribution is small, a single line, yet notable: “A world without heroes, is like a world without sun”.

Reed may have been thinking of the possibility of nuclear war, the song was written during our war happy lives after all, a time of sabre rattling most foul. Sure fits today’s clusterfuckness as we do seem to be inhabiting a world with little, if any, sun.
