Record Store Day. Did not go too crazy. The 50th anniversary re-press of Lou Reed's incomparable Metal Machine Music; War's 50th anniversary re-press of Why Can't We Be Friends? (possibly my late partner Cheryl Gordin's favourite album) and yet another Velvet Underground album called Sister Ray.
As I waited in line I got a call from my aunt. My uncle was in a Vancouver hospital. I shelved my plans for the rest of the day and visited him. Turns out he is suffering from a similar condition which his sister was afflicted with a year and a half ago. Looks like he will get out sooner than she did.
Getting old sort of sucks don't you know?
Before my aunt called I did a poll to see who everybody was voting for. Most everybody were previous NDP voters who are going to vote Liberal this time. Hardly a surprise. They were all happier than fuck Christy Clark chose not to run in the city or anywhere else. Ol' Christy has become the drunken aunty no one want to invite over for dinner.
