Up in time to tend a herd of cows this morning. Luckily my hotel has a 24 hour coffee shop downstairs. Good one it is too.
Rock 'n' roll was playing as I walked through the doors. Alice Cooper's 'I Love the Dead'. Cooper and his crack band were writing great rock 'n' roll songs when he wrote that Hallowe'en classic. Next up was the 13th Floor Elevators' 'Eye of the Zombie'. Band leader Roky Erickson never wrote a bad song. Hallowe'en, my friends, out-rocks Christmas every time.
Hallowe'en may even produce more garbage than Christmas. Those 20 foot tall skeletons you see everywhere are going to scare the fuck out of archaeologists one day far in the future.
