Sunday last I listened to 3/4 of the Velvet Underground's Complete Matrix Tapes. 6 of the 8 records. Pleasant Sunday that was. Me, the needle and the Velvet Underground.
Tonight I am listening to the last couple platters. The 8th platter is best of all. It begins with the only version of 'Rock 'n' Roll' in the box set. Perhaps the best song by the best rock 'n' roll band ever.
The Velvet Underground were before my time and I still like Lou Reed and John Cale's solo shit best of all but the Velvets were the best rock 'n' roll band ever.
